D&G Design, pottery makers in Deruta, genially apply traditional Deruta pottery techniques to a very modern pattern. It's Millerighe, in English "a thousand stripes". Apparently a simple, almost naive design, it actually requires a very firm hand (it's free hand painted!) and a perfect knowledge of the impact of firing on every glaze. Additional Millerighe dinnerware, serveware and kitchenware pieces are available on request. D&G stands for Demetra e Giovanni, a young couple of artists who live and work in Deruta. Both experienced potters, they artfully combine his experience on traditional Deruta pottery hand painting and her taste for creative and abstract designs. D&G pottery is exclusively hand painted by Giovanni and Demetra and kiln fired in small batches. Their limited production only adds to the value of their pieces, which are absolutely worth the wait.
